Love this video. Can feel the energy from the crowd. I am definitely a floor rather than upper seats person. Arms raised, singing along/screaming and dancing is me, lol. So so great to see and hear so many singing along with Let's Go, love it!

"The Curtian" it was so cool see the back of it on Periscope tonight. Thought it would be a cool thread to post our selfies with the curtain. I'm sure there are hundreds out there.

Wow what a great show overall! First up though apologies everyone for my messing up and deleting the original Dublin thread by mistake. I know a lot of work goes in to the blogs. So after a good night it put a downer on it for me as I take great pride in what I do for everyone. Sorry guys. We had a great weekend in Dublin, such a welcoming city and the show just topped it off for us. We arrived in good time, the doors were late opening for some reason, but it was no bother as clearly the majority of people were coming in later for Whitesnake and the Lep's. First up were Black Star Riders, in essence this is the reformed Thin Lizzy. There weren't many people in to see them for the start. They played a good mix of their material and some Lizzy classics. By the end of their set the place was filling up nicely and the finale of Whiskey in the Jar went down a storm. It was like they played the national anthem! I was speaking to a couple of Irish fans after their set and they, (probably rightly), pointed out that these have probably reached their ceiling now, I don't think they can get any higher than they are either. I'm sure Whitesnake came on a few minutes early, I heard their intro of My Generation blaring out a good ten minutes before the advertised start time of 7.45, so we quickly got back up to the seats for them to come on stage. The arena had filled nicely for them. My first impression was the sound quality. This wasn't a suppprt band sound mix and they also had more use of the video screens, with better graphics, than I remember back in 08 when they supported Leppard. I managed to get the first few songs on periscope of WS and I hoped I could do the same for Leppard, but my phone had other ideas. Coverdale is such a great frontman, the crowd were eating out of his hand. Sure he's lost a bit of the voice, but that didn't detract and I would say he sounded better here than when I saw them 6 years ago. They played a few off the new Purple album mixed with the classics. It was basically the same hits as they did 08 I think. But they have some great songs and they went down a storm. New guitarist Joel Hoekstra looked like he'd been there forever and usually the mid set traditional WS drum and guitar solo is rubbish, but this tours is excellent and Tommy Aldridges drum solo is insanely good. Burn Bad boys Love ain't no stranger The gypsy Give me all your love Ain't no love in the heart of the city Mistreated You fool no one (with drum and guitar solos) Soldier of fortune Is this love Fool for your loving Here I go again Still of the night These would be a tough act to follow IMO. On to the Lep's. It was nice to see the full US stage presentation make its way over for this tour and the excitement building during their intro song Shoot to Thrill was palpable. Up goes the curtain and the intro to Let's Go starts. Is this an opening song? I'm not convinced yet. Not that the arena cared too much as the place went nuts. The first thing that was noticeable was Savs bass, it had gone back to the bad old days when it used to overpower the mix. It was way too much, maybe it was my location? But thankfully they managed to keep it in check for most of the set after this track. The rest of the mix was amazing, Ricks drums especially, so crisp and clear and big! The video wall looks amazing too, really adds to the spectacle. I wasn't too sure what to expect next, I was hoping Rock Rock, but they went into Animal and the place exploded. It's a big pay off having his song so early as its so popular in this part of the world. My highlights of the gig were up next, (although I don't think the other 11000 or so people shared my sentiments). Undefeated benefits from the drum intro and Joe building the crowd up and when the riff kicks in it sounded meaty. This is the best it's sounded IMO. Joe attacked his song with real energy. Mic in one hand and wielding the mic stand in the other as he spat out the lyrics. Really cool to see new material get this much energy from the band. It's also got a new ending too. I really enjoyed this one. Next up is Phils intro and we are into Dangerous. This sounded so good, my only minor gripe is that Ricks intro drums are pushed so high up in the mix that they were on the verge of distortion. But after that this song has future standard written all over it. We then dip into the setlist standards of Love Bites and Armageddon It. As die hard fans it's easy for us to get a bit jaded. But look around and these songs are going down like the arenas never heard them before, and it's hard not to get swept up in that. Funnily the girl next to my seat got busted for filming. I got a bit twitchy as security approached me Next up is Savs short intro and bass solo. At this point this was the worst sound I have ever heard at a gig. The metalwork in the arena in the seats and barriers weree vibrating it was that bad. Seriously! People were looking around thinking wtf. Anyway we know that Curts favourite is next in Rock On. I honestly don't mind it, I'd rather hear a Leppard song, but it's well done and well presented with Joe on the riser behind Rick for the verses. Joe gets the acoustic on and wanders down the thrust and surprise surprise he played the first verse to Last Dance. He stops it short and then goes into the usual TSB intro of joining the band. Personally I think it would be better if he played that verse and then went into TSB with no break, but hey he played it so it's a bonus. Again TSB goes down a treat, it's easy to see why it's in there. Another set highlight up next in Rocket which looks and sounds fantastic. At this point security are checking the metal barriers in front of me. Nice one Sav. WLAHC has now replaced BOTH and again it's an easy win with the crowd with such a big hit. It sounds very good. This segues into Switch 625, granted not as seamless as it does following BOTH but never mind. Sav is in the spotlight again on the riser behind Rick, thankfully he's not bringing the building down again. Switch is one for me that I could do without hearing all the time, but it's does sound so good and Ricks turn in the spotlight is a highlight. We're now into the home straight with the fantastic Hysteria and it's old school photo montage. But LGR and PSSOM do practically bring the house down. They are sure fire winners every time they play them. The encores were the usual ROA and Photograph. Again the crowd are loving it and so is a cynical setlist moaner like me. They sounded so good, all the initial show sound problems have long gone, Joe is also sounding better than he did when I last saw them on the MB tour too, and to be fair he wasn't at his best tonight. Overall excellent bar a couple of sound issues. Nice to see 2 new ones as well. Hopefully we get a bit of rotation on the upcoming tour maybe I videoed let's go, animal, dangerous, a brief snippet of last dance and all of WLAHC/ Switch.

Thanks for the review and great photos! Can't wait for Newcastle on Wednesday now (although I do wish they'd drop Rock On and do something rockier like Wasted or Let It Go...)

Great arena, more wide than it is long to ensure a good view all over. The only downside is the further to the sides you are that you lose a bit of the video screen, I know I did.
