Pyromania is sitting at #161 on this week's Billboard 200 albums chart. Pretty cool whenever one of the old albums sells enough in a given week to pop back up there.

How much bigger would Leppard be than they already are if their entire catalogue had been on iTunes for the last decade?

151 this week on Billboard chart, does anyone know why sales for Pyro have suddenly picked up in the US? Are songs being used by baseball teams, tv shows etc?

Are songs being used by baseball teams, tv shows etc? what are the chart numbers since late june? my guess would be the numbers would increase during and after a tour... just a guess though.. imagine what they would be like if itunes sold the back catalog

Hysteria or vault aren't on the top 200, so must be a reason why Pyro sales have picked up. I would have thought Hysteria most weeks would have better sales than Pyro.
Out of general interest does anyone have updated sales of Leppard's albums through 2014?

One possible reason, and this is only from personal experience, is that Pyromania may be the most readily available in the few stores that carry CDs. It's usually one of the $5 or $7 discs featured at stores like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. That is the only album available at my local Target. Walmart has it in stock, as does Best Buy. The latter two may have a copy of Hysteria, Vault, or Rock Of Ages, but multiple copies of Pyro.

I could see that. There has to be a reason to what made the people go out and grab it, not everyone goes in to those types of stores and goes "oh hey ill grab this" by just seeing it at that price, its probably been at that price for a couple years now.
There is normally a reason maybe some Pyro tracks are getting some heavier rotation on rock stations, maybe this is to help with the pyro residency. No matter what it is it's awsome, its a timeless album with songs that can stand toe toe with anything that is out now and i couldn't be happier!

My guess would be that it's a $4.99 special this month or something.

31years on the album still manages to be in the top200. And without the backing of digital sales. Not even ONE album sold digitally.
Amazing what an impact this album had and still has...

178 this week down 27, lots of new entries and re-entries (U2), so sales may not have dipped much.

Are they still touring with Kiss? How many older tracks are they playing? They might be winning over new fans or reminding older rock fans how great that material is.

My guess is that people are just sick of the garbage that is coming out now and are looking for some quality rock music. lol

I wonder if it would chart quite high the week that it goes back on to iTunes (Assuming it does eventually) And Hysteria too.

It's all the Kiss fans who saw them on tour!

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that maybe it is in there off the back of the Kiss tour. Look at the last 2 songs finishing the set every night. Maybe that stuck in fans memories?

That's what I was thinking - they are so tight musically and the effects with the screens - it is rock 'not roll the way it was always intended to be. You leave knowing you were part of something special - not that you just watched somebody. Is anybody current doing that kind of show? Not that I too much care!

I was also thinking many May own Hysteria already, and off the heels of the tour sales spiked. Simply amazing. And so nice to hear.

This week 199, a good run on the charts. As everyone says on here, imagine the boost when iTunes etc can allow people to download the entire album, rather than people buying the physical version. It would be good timing if that happened late March just as the first single of the next album comes out build some momentum.

According to metal-insider Judas Priest sold 1,325 to be at 196 on US chart, so Pyro must have sold 1275-1,300.
